Week 2 Update - Building Momentum

By Anonymous • Hudson Robotics Team

Sorry for holding back on y'all during Week 1! We were getting everything together and there wasn't a lot of movement at first, but things have really started to pick up.

The Everybot reveal dropped this past Tuesday, giving us a ton of ideas and a clear sense of direction for our build strategy. For those unfamiliar, the Everybot is a simple, competitive robot design that teams can reference when planning their own builds.

Week 1 Progress

Last week we built one of the BUMPS from the game field and tested it with our tank drive practice bot that we use during the offseason. The drivers looked excited to catch some air!

Testing field elements early helps us understand the physical challenges and fine-tune our robot design before we commit to building the competition bot.

Week 2 Challenges

This week will not be as productive as Texas is experiencing a winter storm, so we're taking safety precautions and limiting in-person sessions.

Hopefully Week 3 will be much more productive so we can give y'all some exciting updates!

Stay safe out there, and we'll be back stronger next week.

Kickoff Event - REBUILT™ 2026

By Anonymous • Hudson Robotics Team

We are excited to share this incredible moment with everyone! Today we attended the 2026 FIRST® Robotics Competition Kickoff and learned about this year's game: REBUILT™, presented by Haas. A huge shoutout to the Lufkin Pantherbots (Team 2582) for their amazing hospitality in hosting us at the kickoff event!

This year's challenge centers around scoring Fuel in alternating active Hubs and climbing Towers for bonus points. The unique Hub activation system and multiple Ranking Point thresholds are going to make strategy crucial.

Our Game Plan

After watching the reveal, we're ready to start brainstorming! Here's our initial thinking:

Tank Drive - We're focusing on a tank drive system this year for better control when navigating the field's Bumps and Trenches.

Climbing - With up to 30 points available for reaching Level 3, climbing is non-negotiable. We're designing for at least Level 2 capability.

Fuel Management - The alternating Hub system means we need smart autonomous routines and precise timing during our active windows to hit those Energized and Supercharged thresholds.

Next Steps

We're ready to start the build season strong! The team will be meeting this week to develop detailed CAD designs, finalize our strategy, and start prototyping key mechanisms. Let's make this year unforgettable!#FRC2026 #REBUILT #HudsonStingers #Team4295
